ATS and St George Bank are raising money for two very worthy charities with an Inaugural Community Golf Day
– 22nd February, 2013

Although we initially announced this event back in June, the details of the event have changed along with our major event partner, St George Bank.

The event is being held to raise awareness and funds for two very worthy charitable organizations, the St George Foundation and FARA (Freidrich Ataxia Research Australasia).

This event will take place on the 22nd February 2013.

The Venue

This auspicious event will take place at the multi award winning Brookwater Golf & Country Club, located about 35 minutes from Brisbane, QLD. Designed by Greg Norman, this amazing golf course is built with the surrounding bushland as a feature, winding in and around beautiful native countryside.

The Million Dollar Hole In One

Held on the 16th hole, which is a par 3, the real excitement of the day will be for those playing to have a shot at winning a million dollars for a hole in one. If won, this prize money is to be shared between the lucky (or skillful?) player and the charities being supported, with $500k going to the player, and $250k being generously donated to each of the charities. It would be incredible to see this prize claimed, and our fingers will be crossed for all attendees on the day!

There are many people who have contributed to this special day becoming a reality, either with time and expertise or those sponsoring the event financially. Once we’re closer to the date, we will update this post with a more complete list of those involved.

For now, we would like to highlight the very generous sponsorship of our Australian Defense Force, who is hosting a post-game cocktail party with a live performance from Casey Barnes, who appeared in the 2009 Australian Idol competition. Here attendees will have the opportunity to bid in an auction for several donated items, one of which is a truly unique and amazing adventure with the ADF: an all expenses paid trip to stay with our Aussie troops in the Solomon Islands – a once in a lifetime experience!
